Alma Jeanne Corns, 86, of Mooresville, passed away during the early morning hours on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Worthington Place in Camby. Born November 30, 1930 in Indianapolis, Jeanne was the daughter of Alvin and Iona (Davis) Alexander; her parents preceded her in death. On June 26, 1955 Jeanne and her loving husband, William Corns were united in marriage and he preceded her in death on April 6, 2006 after 50 years of marriage.
A homemaker and a master of crafts, Jeanne was known for her work with corn husks, grapevine, honeysuckle vine, and willow. She enjoyed going to craft shows where she sold her crafts and potpourri. She was a faithful and active member of Monrovia Christian Church.
Survivors include her two children, Daniel (Jessica) Corns of Jupiter, Florida and Kathleen (Matthew) Moraff of Columbia, Maryland; her brother, Thomas (Nancy) Alexander of Brownsburg; sister, Patricia Marksbary of Camden, South Carolina; and three grandchildren, Alexis Rowland, Sydney Corns, and Savanna Corns.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Jeanne Corns on Monday, March 13, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Monrovia Christian Church or to honor her love of cats, the Morgan County Humane Society; envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
