Angie Elfleda Griffith

82, of Mooresville, passed away on February 17, 2018 at Methodist Hospital. Angie was born on December 31, 1935 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Michael A. Badgley and Nettie Florence (Plummer) Badgley.

Angie wed Henry Griffith on May 27, 1955 and remained married for more than 53 years, until his passing in 2008. She was an active member of the Church by the Side of the Road in Avon, Mooresville Senior Center and the Washington HS Alumni Club. She also enjoyed spending time with Henry in various car clubs, including; The Historic Auto Club, The Studebaker Club, The Avanti Club and taking bus trips with friends. As an accomplished pianist, she played for various churches and nursing homes for more than 68 years, including the Westside Hymn Sing for 30 of those years. It was often known, if you couldn’t find her at home, playing the piano or helping others, that you could probably find her at Pizza Hut enjoying a slice of pepperoni pizza!

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters; Evelyn Graves, Elvina Miller and Eleanor Rutledge.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter; Linda Griffith and her partner, Jayne Jackson of St. Louis, sons; Michael Griffith and his partner, Joel Trimble of St. Petersburg, FL, Charles Griffith and wife Becky of Indianapolis and one grandchild Emma Lee Griffith.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 3-8pm at Carlisle- Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10am in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in Centennial Cemetery, Martinsville.

While flowers are welcomed, memorial contributions may be made to The Church by The Side of The Road, Avon or to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
