Annette M. Moore, 72, Mooresville, passed away September 27, 2021, after a brief battle with Covid-19. Annette was born April 10, 1949, in Indianapolis, to the late Edward and Gertrude (Weilhammer) Smith.
She graduated from Emmerich Manual High School. Annette never met a stranger. She was a Christian who loved doing God’s work. For many years she could be found driving the church bus on Sunday mornings for Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Mooresville or Redemption Baptist Church in Florida. She was a 49-year member of Good Shepherd. Her caring and compassionate heart helped so many people. She enjoyed cooking, not only for her family, but for the Paragon Lions Club, of which she was past president. Thanksgiving and Christmas were especially important to her; she always made sure that the Paragon families had a warm Thanksgiving dinner and the Paragon kids always got their secret Santa gifts. Family was hugely important to Annette, and a weekly dinner with family was a must. She enjoyed bocce ball, bingo, and garage sales. She retired as the Postmaster in Paragon in 2011, where she had worked for many years. Annette’s memory will be cherished by her loving family and many friends.
Survivors include her children, Christina Fitch, Patricia Morris, and Michelle (Dennis) Bailey; grandchildren; Brittany (Roy), Daniel (Hannah), Zach, Shelby (Shane); great grandchildren Ethan, Micaela, David, Ella, and Liam; sisters, Elaine O’Neal and Janet Sellmeyer; brothers, Randy (Rhonda) Smith, Kurt (Janet) Smith, Gary (Wanda) Smith, former husband, Jim Fitch.
