Bayard J. “ Frenchie” LeBlanc, 83, Mooresville, died peacefully at home on November 17, 2012. He was born July 13, 1929 in Pontatula, Louisiana, to the late Leo and Ada (Parent) LeBlanc.
Frenchie was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army and a member of the Mooresville American Legion. He was a farmer, owned a printing business and later worked in construction. Frenchie loved music, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed playing the piano and the harmonica. Frenchie and Sophie also enjoyed dancing at the Indiana Roof Ballroom together. Among all, he was a very generous man, who truly earned the title of a good Samaritan. He was always a devoted husband, father and papa, who will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by all of his siblings.
Survivors include his wife, Sophie “Yaya” (Marianos) LeBlanc, to whom he was united in marriage on August 29, 1953; children, Sandra Smith of Indianapolis; Stanley LeBlanc of Mooresville; Brenda Covey of Mooresville; Bradley LeBlanc of Cincinnati; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2012, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service @ Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, November 19, 2012. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood. Rev. Billy Gott will officiate the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, the Morgan County Humane Society, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
