Betty E. Murry Rinehart, 87, Mooresville, passed away peacefully March 14, 2016, in Brookdale at Willow Lake, Indianapolis. Mrs. Rinehart was born September 28, 1928, in Petersburg, Indiana, to the late Harold “Steve” and Edna (Catt) Murry.
Mrs. Rinehart had been a licensed beautician and co-owned the Upper Cut Salon in Greenwood with her late husband. Also a proud homemaker, she cared tenderly for her family for years. She was a devoted member of the First Christian Church, past president of the Christian Women’s Fellowship, taught Sunday School and was a loyal part of the church’s quilting circle. She also was an active part of the church’s Vacation Bible School on a yearly basis. She enjoyed birdwatching, but above all, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren. An avid quilter, Betty coordinated quilting shows that were always enjoyed by many. The consummate wife, mother, and grandmother, Betty Rinehart will be remembered fondly by a loving family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne R. Rinehart.
Survivors include two children, Steve Rinehart (Elaine) of Indianapolis and Sue Ann Rinehart of Indianapolis; sister, Kora Garretson of Petersburg; grandchildren, Renee Rinehart, Emily Rinehart, and Sarah Gibson.
Friends and family will gather on Thursday, March 17, 2016, 4 to 8 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Friday, March 18, 2106, in the First Christian Church, 525 N. Indiana Street, Mooresville. Burial will follow in Nebo Memorial Park, Martinsville.
