95, of Mooresville, passed away on January 12, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital, Mooresville surrounded by her family. Betty was born on April 7, 1924 to the late Jim Mitchell and Rosie (Xanders) Mitchell in Bridgeport, IL.

She was the matriarch and the rock of her family as well as a pillar of the Mooresville community. She married the love of her life, Hubert Robling on August 23, 1947 and were married over 43 years at the time of his passing in 1990. She and Hubert Robling were inseparable and teamed up during World War II as she was a “Rosie Riveter” in making the planes, while Hubert was a mechanic in the service, repairing the planes. Later, she and Hubert were one of the founding families at the Mooresville Free Methodist Church and were long time faithful members. In addition to being active in the church, she and Hubert help found Churches in Missions, where she was known as the “Doll Lady” helping refurbish old dolls so that they could be given to children in need at Christmas time. Additionally, she was active at the Mooresville Senior Center, sold Avon, was a secretary, bookkeeper, as well as being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Robling.

She is survived by her sons Danny (Betty Jo) Robling, James (Cathy) Robling, Tommy (Michelle) Robling; a sister Bea Gosnell; 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 15th from 4-8pm at Carlisle- Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 16th at 11am in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.

In keeping with Betty’s spirit of helping others, it is asked that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Churches in Mission, 27 S. Indiana Street. Mooresville. IN 46158.
