Betty Ruth Neitzel

Betty Ruth Pennington Neitzel, 88, Mooresville, died October 13, 2013, in Greenwood Meadows. Mrs. Neitzel was born February 1, 1925, in Mooresville, to the late Floyd Pennington, Sr. and Ruth (Hornaday) Pennington.

A proud homemaker, Mrs. Neitzel was a very faithful church member. Through the years, she was active at University Heights Christian Church, Bluff Creek Christian Church, Heritage Christian Church, and Bayonet Pointe Christian Church. She was also a volunteer at Camp Allendale and had taught Sunday School for many years. She will be missed by her loving and caring family who has fond memories of Betty's excellent cooking skills and loving nature.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Patty Jo Fisher; brothers, Maurice Pennington and Floyd Pennington, Jr.; sister, Mary Jean McComb; grandson, John Giordano.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Ruth Williams (Paul) of Mooresville, Neena Saner (Dennis) of Mooresville, and Mary Ann Brock (Burt) of Franklin; sister, Marjorie Burdge; nine grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren including Olivia Ruth.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, October 18, 2013, in the Carlisle - Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2013. Her son-in-law, Pastor Burt Brock, will officiate and burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
