Bill Lee, of Monrovia, Indiana, passed away on February 4, 2012. Bill was born August 14, 1934, to Will O. and Birdie Mae Lee. He joins his parents, sister Chilcie Gay, and son William Dale, who preceded him in death. Bill leaves behind an extensive and loving family, including his wife of 28 years, Vivian Lee, and seven children, Charles Craig of Fortville, Denver Dewayne, Clifton, Donald Ray (Chris), all of Mooresville, Christina Marie (Shayne) of Indianapolis, Heather Dawn Ambrose of Monrovia, Charles David Coslett (Charles Hight) of Indianapolis. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Bill has eight brothers and sisters, Marvin (Pat) of Houstonsville, KY., Bradley (Nancy) of Martinsville, IN., Denver (Kim) of Fortville, Christine Dean (Phillip) of Liberty, KY., Wince (Melissa) of Georgetown, KY., Teresa Coffman (Jim) of Liberty, KY. Bill also has seven half brothers and sisters. Six of them preceded him in death; He is survived by Mabel Wilcher of Mooresville and many special nieces and nephews.
Bill was born on Brush Creek, Kentucky and helped his father farm tobacco until he moved to Indiana to raise his own family. Once Bill settled in Mooresville, he worked at Hydraulic Press Brick Company in Brooklyn, Indiana for 47 years of his life, retiring in May of 2008. Bill lived in Monrovia for 28 years, raising horses and any stray animal his family could talk him into keeping. He was an avid horseman all his life and quite a horse trader. He loved animals, nature and bartering. Bill was known for his sharp sense of humor and quick wit- even a practical joke or two. Bill believed family was more than just blood and as a result included Alma and Charles Smock in his extended family circle. Bill is survived by Alma Smock. Charles Smock preceded Bill in death.
The funeral service will begin at 2:30p.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with visitation from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, February 6, 2012. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall. Joanie Nester and his brother Wince will officiate the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
