Billie F. Johnson, of Mooresville, passed away on March 30, 2019 at 9:24 a.m. Billie was born November 6, 1931, in Woodbury, Tennessee to the late Hobart Lee and Delia May (Moon) Johnson.
Billie served in the United States Army as Sergeant with D Battery 509th AAA Gun Battalion, December 5, 1952 – December 4, 1954. He moved to Indiana in 1954. He married Dorothy May Kingery on April 3, 1954 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He retired from the American Can Company in 1979 and started working at the First Christian Church in Mooresville until 2015. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Church of God, Indianapolis. He enjoyed playing his banjo, gardening, walking, traveling, and help caring for people. Billie’s good nature is going to be greatly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 4 brothers, Olan Johnson, Lonnie Johnson, Harold Johnson, and Paul Johnson
Billie is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy May Johnson; three children, Pamela Stoneman, Nathan L. Johnson (Myra), and Melissa Bade (Doug), 9 grandchildren, Shelley Stoneman, Ashley Stoneman, Zachary Stoneman, Megan Johnson, Kaitlyn Parmerlee, Michael Johnson (Kaylee) Jathan Rose (Lauren), and Rachelle Tutterrow (Steven), Davin Rose (Lauren); and 9 great grandchildren Isabella Parmerlee, Noah Rose, Chase Rose, Alexis Rose, Brendan Tutterrow, McKenzie, Tutterrow, Victoria Tutterrow, Naomi Rose, and Elijah Rose; siblings, HD Johnson, Howard Johnson (Rachel), Josie Pharris (Jim), Mary Carroll (Bob), and Van Johnson (Cindy).
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Grace Church, Mooresville, with the service following at 12 p.m. Burial will be in Mooresville Cemetery. Visit www.CarlisleBranson.com to share a favorite memory or to sign the online guest registry.
