Billy W. Hopkins

Billy W. Hopkins, 71, Mooresville, died March 11, 2013, in Kindred Hospital. Mr. Hopkins was born April 2, 1941, in Tennessee, to the late John O. and Willie Hopkins.

He graduated from Helmsburg High School. Mr. Hopkins was a dedicated employee for the Allison Division of General Motors for 33 years, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, and was always interested in helping those in need. He coached little league baseball, basketball, and football for a number of years when his children were growing up. His kind and generous spirit will be missed by a loving family and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Linda L. (Coffman) Hopkins; son, Danny Hopkins (Tammy) and their children, Koty, Austin, Kaylie and great grandson, Braxten; daughter, Sherrie Kazmierzak (Allen) and their children Bryson, Brianna, and Blake; brother, Ronnie Hopkins (Maria); sisters, Fay Graber, Bertha Olinger (Bert), and Marie Jones; half-sisters, Darlene, Janette, and Sharon.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2013, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Nineveh Cemetery.
