Bonnie L. Peek Dwyer, 85, Mooresville, passed away peacefully September 15, 2018. Bonnie was born July 10, 1933, in Shoals, to the late Cecil Clyde and Gladys Irene (Weisbach) Collins. She married Thomas Barton Peek, and he preceded her in death in 1986.
Bonnie graduated from Shoals High School in 1950. A proud homemaker, she was the foundation for her family and saw everyone through the good times and the challenges. She will be fondly remembered for her loving heart, the smile on her face, and her kind and gentle way. Bonnie enjoyed shopping, especially for pretty shoes and always took great pride in the presentation of her holiday tables. An accomplished cook, some of her famous recipes included chocolate cake, oyster dressing, turkey, and fried chicken. She was also an IU basketball fan and an avid reader. Bonnie’s memory will be forever cherished by her loving family.
Survivors include her beloved husband, John L. “Jack” Dwyer, to whom she was united in marriage August 19, 1992; children, Cyndi (Gary) Cooke, Thomas Gregory Peek, Randy (Judy) Peek, and Brian (Paula) Peek; step-children, Sean Dwyer, Jeffrey Dwyer, and Cindy Dwyer; sisters, Wanda Dickey and Melody Wolf; grandchildren, Alicia Dillard, Ryan Peek, Amanda Blanton, Kelsey Cooke, Justin Peek, and Evan Peek; great grandchildren, Trent, Bradley, and Audrey.
The family is most grateful for the care and love extended by the staff at Miller’s Merry Manor in Mooresville, St. Francis Hospice, and by Bonnie’s caregiver, Carrie Lane.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Bonnie Dwyer on Monday, September 17, 2018, 3 to 6 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. Chaplain Dave Francoeur will officiate. The committal service and burial will take place at 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2018, in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shoals.
