Brenda Sue Cordray
74 of Avon, passed away on April 3, 2022, at Life’s Journey in Avon, surrounded by her family. Brenda was born on September 9, 1947, in South Bend, Indiana to the late Dr. Wesley Good and Mildred (Godwin) Good.

Brenda earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Ball State University. She taught at North Madison Elementary for the Mooresville School Corporation for many years, before retiring.

Family and faith were the cornerstones of Brenda’s life. She attended the West Newton Friends and most recently, Avon United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Whether it was going to the beach, reading to her grandkids, attending their activities, or simply sharing her passion for chocolate, by giving them each their first taste of chocolate, she made sure her family knew how much she loved them. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas. She enjoyed their annual “Cookie Day” when her children and grandchildren would gather to bake cookies and top them off with their favorite icing.

She is survived by her children Micah (Amanda) Cordray, Lauren (Dennis) Chinn, Emily (Jeff) Haney; brother Richard (Betsy) Good and her beloved 8 grandchildren, Wesley, Dalton, Layla, Cort, Lily, Mattie, Adam, and Jenna, who will dearly miss her.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Brenda’s life on Thursday, April 7th from 5-8pm, with an open house at the Avon United Methodist Church, 6850 E US Hwy 36, Avon, IN 46123.
