Bruce N. Patton

Bruce N. Patton, 59, Greenwood, passed away peacefully at home October 27, 2016. Bruce was born August 30, 1957, in Lafayette, Indiana to the late Norm Patton and Marcia (Rupp) Huguenard, who survives.

He graduated from Paducah Tilghman High School in Paducah, Kentucky and promptly began a long and fulfilling career in the trucking business. He retired from Stoops Freightliner in January of 2015 as the Corporate Parts Manager after 27 years with the company.

A strong and loyal family man, Bruce was a loving husband and father who never missed his daughters’ many extracurricular activities. He was a skilled water skier and especially loved boating on Lake Monroe and Dale Hollow. Bruce and his wife took great pride in caring for their yard and creating beautiful gardens together. He will also be remembered for his talents in the kitchen - he was a great cook and grill-master. His loving family and many friends across the country will miss him dearly.

Bruce’s family includes his loving wife of 36 years, Wendy (Hall) Patton; daughters, Brittany Caldwell (Jeff) of Miami, Florida, Darah Patton of San Francisco, California, and Jenna Patton of Greenwood; mother and step-father, Marcia and Dave Huguenard of Bloomington; sister Carrie Bonds (Mike) of Camden, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Paisley and Parker Caldwell; parents-in-law, Rick and Ann Hall of Bonita Springs, Florida.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Bruce Patton on Monday, October 31, 2016, 4 to 6 p.m. at Saints Francis & Clare Catholic Church, 5901 W. Olive Branch Road, Greenwood. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6 p.m. In Bruce’s memory, please consider donating blood or bone marrow to save a life.
