Byron Larue Brewer, 88, Mooresville, passed away November 2, 2021, at Miller’s Merry Manor. Larue was born April 27, 1933, in Mooresville, to the late Chester and Opal (Rankin) Brewer. He married Cynthia (Foster) Brewer on August 16, 1964, and she survives.
Larue graduated from Mooresville High School in in 1951 and attended Lynchburg College. He served for a brief period in the Naval Reserves. Larue was employed for more than 30 years at Indianapolis Power & Light, retiring in 1992. He was a 60+ year member of the Mooresville First Christian Church, past president and longtime member of the Mooresville Lions Club, and former member of the Jaycees. Larue was also quite active with the Boy Scouts Troop 231 for many years. He enjoyed model trains, gardening, and cooking. Above all, he was strongly devoted to his community and especially his family. Larue will be fondly remembered for his kindness and generosity.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Brewer.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Cynthia, children, Susannah (Bruce) Fout and Greg (Tara) Brewer; grandchildren, Jay Fout, Kyle Brewer, and Kevin Brewer; great grandchild, Hadi Fout.
Larue’s Life Celebration® visitation will be Sunday, November 7, 2021, 3 to 5 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Funeral service will follow at 5 p.m., with Pastor Glenda Survance officiating. Cremation will take place at the Morgan County Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts Troop 231 or to First Christian Church, 525 N. Indiana St., Mooresville, IN 46158.
