Carl S. Keller
92 of Mooresville, passed away on July 10, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family. Carl was born on September 4, 1931, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Upon graduating from high school, Carl enlisted in the U.S. Navy, then served with the U.S. Marine Corps and finished his military career with the U.S. Army. He had the unique distinction of serving during both the Korean War as well as the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Green Berets special forces and finished his career with the military police. During his time between the Navy and Marine Corps, he worked as a police officer in Las Vegas, where he met his beloved wife, Mary. Together, they had two daughters and raised their family around the country during his military career. Upon retirement from the military, he worked as a civilian security guard at Ft. Harrison in Indianapolis. He enjoyed staying active blacksmithing, riding horses, playing golf, reading and traveling out west.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Stella Stifle, Howard and Lula Keller; wife Mary (Deane) Keller; sisters, Margaret Farmer, Helen Stifle; brothers Junior Stifle, Floyd Bicknell and Earl Wall.
He is survived by his daughters Shannon McCorkle, Patricia Price; grandchildren David Lee Price, Casey Michael Price, Carlee Madison McCorkle and a great grandchild Riley Elaine Price, who will all miss him dearly.
Honoring Carl’s wishes, he will be cremated, and no formal services will be observed.
