Carolyn A. (Merriman) Turner, 80, Mooresville, passed away peacefully January 7, 2019. Carolyn was born May 30, 1938, in Bargersville, to the late Charles and Bessie Mable (Earles) Merriman.
In addition to working a seasonal job at the Indiana Department of Revenue for several years, Carolyn enjoyed the social aspect of her many jobs through the years. She worked at Crest Cleaners, Kelly’s, Kendrick Hospital, Automotive Armature, and McDonald’s. Carolyn was a people person and especially loved any opportunity to spend time with her family. She was proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Carolyn was a member of Mt. Gilead Church. She will be fondly remembered by her loving family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Turner; brothers, Eugene Merriman, Danny Merriman; sisters, Charlotte Stone, Janette David, and Linda McKinney.
Survivors include her children, Debbie (Steve) Cox, Pam Hopwood, Bryant (Joni) Hopwood, Donna (Todd) Steward, and Danisa (Tim) Lewis; sister, Edith (Don) Wright); twelve grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Carolyn Turner from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, January 11, 2019, in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Mt. Gilead Church, 6019 E. State Road 144, Mooresville. Burial will follow at White Lick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or to the Ronald McDonald House. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
