Charles E. “Chuck” Eyster, Jr., 77, passed peacefully surrounded by those who loved him on Thursday, March 26 at his residence in Mooresville. Chuck was born September 6, 1937 in Indianapolis to the late Charles E. Eyster, Sr. and Willamena (Johnson) Eyster. On July 23, 1962 Chuck was united in marriage to his loving wife, Carolyn K. (Brothers) Eyster and she survives. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1959. Chuck was employed for 20 years at Allison Division at General Motors in Indianapolis; he retired in 1998. He was a member of the Monrovia Lodge #654 F.& A.M.
Other survivors include his son, Randy C. (Sandra) Eyster of Mooresville; one grandson, Jake R. Eyster of Mooresville and his brother, Ray E. Eyster of Murphy, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Tuesday, March 31 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service and Crematory in Mooresville; a Masonic Service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Following cremation, Chuck will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis on Thursday, April 2 at 1:00 p.m. with Deacon Louie Smith officiating and full military honors.
