Charles L. Roberts, 86, of Plainfield, formerly of Olney, IL and Indianapolis, died January 2, 2013, in Sugar Grove Senior Living. He was born August 21, 1926, in Danville, Illinois.
After high school, Mr. Roberts joined the U.S. Navy, where he served actively during WWII. He worked for many years as a buyer for L.S. Ayers, in Indianapolis. He later moved to Olney, Illinois for ten years with his wife, Eloise (Jenner) Roberts. Charles spent his last few years in Plainfield. He enjoyed gardening and painting.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Eloise (Jenner) Roberts; brother, Bob Roberts.
Survivors include his nieces, Phyllis Dunn of Plainfield and Judy Fatheree of Parkersburg, IL; nephews, Philip Hudson of Indianapolis and Dale Jenner of Oklahoma.
Cremation arrangements are being handled by Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. An inurnment will take place at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg, Illinois.
