Charles R. Kenworthy

Charles R. Kenworthy, 86, lifelong Morgan County resident, died peacefully April 25, 2014, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Mooresville. Born May 26, 1927, he was the only son born to the late Roscoe and Fannie (Cordray) Kenworthy.

Mr. Kenworthy attended Mooresville High School and was a farmer most of his life. He also drove a school bus for 17 years and worked at the IU Medical Center for 10 years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed all things having to do with farming, especially International Harvester tractors. He was a hard working family man who enjoyed woodworking, and refinishing antiques he would find at flea markets and auctions. Above all, he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita (Short) Kenworthy; sister, Margaret Jones; daughters, Mary and Theresa Kenworthy.

Survivors include sons, Eugene (Pam) of Mooresville, Raymond of Mooresville, Eddie (Gale) of Bedford, and Scott (Kara) of Fairland; daughters, Kim Chandler (Roger) of Mooresville and Missy Kenworthy of Martinsville; sister, Eva Sellars; 22 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren.

A private family viewing will be held at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The graveside service will begin at 12 Noon, Monday, April 28, 2014, in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Awareness Foundation.
