Charles W. "Tom" Simshauser

Charles W. “Tom” Simshauser, 80, of Mooresville, passed away during the early morning hours on Friday, March 10, 2017 in the comfort of his home. He was born October 9, 1936 in Colorado.

Tom was self-employed as a horse trainer for many years. He worked in construction for the local laborers union #120 in Indianapolis for a number of years. Tom’s life revolved around his love for training and caring for his horses over the years.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Simshauser; daughther, Sherry Lee Marano; step-son, David Murray; step-daughter, Cheryl Morgan; two sisters, Irene and Bonnie; one grandson, and one great great grandson.

Survivors include his companion of many years, Rose M. Harris of Mooresville; son, Mike Simshauser of Littleton, Colorado; step-sons, Randy (Cindy) Murray of Martinsville, Rick Murray of Mooresville, Richard Harris, Kevin Harris; step-daughters, Vicky Mattingly of Monrovia, Cheryl Morgan, Ronnie Kay Glassburn; three brothers, Hubert (Janie) Simshauser of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Kenneth (Crystal) Simshauser of Smyrna, Tennessee, and Wessley (Lynn) Simshauser of Colorado Springs; 12 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Tom Simshauser on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville.
