Chris Pershing, 60, passed away on June 30, 2011 in Oak Forest, Illinois.
An Indiana native, he was born in Indianapolis on May 6,1951, and graduated from Mooresville High School and Indiana State University.
Upon graduation, he began his professional career as a copywriter for a
number of top advertising agencies and Indiana electric utilities. He then
embarked on a very successful 15-year career as a marketing communications
program manager with the International Business Machines Corporation, playing a key
role in helping launch and promote a wide range of personal computer products.
He was an insatiable reader of fine literature, a keen student of current events,
a political activist, an avid outdoorsman – an adventurer at heart, a great dog lover,
and an expert billiards player who competed in the national finals in Las Vegas.
But most important, he was as loyal a friend as any will ever have.
He is survived by his son, Andrew; daughter, Jennifer; and brother, Bill.
Per his wishes, his extensive home library collection will be donated to the Mooresville Library.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, July 9th, at Carlisle Branson Funeral Services & Crematory in Mooresville, Indiana. A gathering of family and friends from 1 to 3 p.m. will precede the services.
Flowers will be accepted in his memory as well as donations to the Humane Society of the United States. Visit www.carlislebranson.com to share a favorite memory or to sign the online guest registry.
