Clark R. Jackson, 87 of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2020 at Sugar Grove Senior Living in Plainfield. Clark was born on September 4,1932 in Wadley, Georgia to the late Frank Cleveland Jackson and Ruth Amelia (Rheney) Jackson.
Clark was a veteran, serving his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After service, he continued his education at Central Michigan, eventually earning his Master’s degree. He then went on to teach at the middle school level for many years in Michigan and in Florida, before retirement. Clark was a faithful man, who enjoyed helping others through teaching Bible School and started a prison ministry to reach out to those who needed to find their spiritual path. In his younger years, he participated in F.F.A and later in life, you could find him digging in the dirt, working with plants, trees and flowers, putting those skills he learned early in life to work.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Sara Kearns, William Jackson, Alice Pendley as well as his first wife, Louise Jackson.
He is survived by his wife, Martha (Miller) Deardorff; son Loren Jackson; daughter Ellen Rafai; a sister Betsy Seving; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 17th at 4pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with visitation from 2-4pm Wednesday, prior to the services in the funeral home. Following the services, he will be cremated and placed in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville privately at a later date.
