Connie L. Masters, 66, Indianapolis, passed away December 30, 2021. Connie was born February 2, 1955, in Indianapolis, to the late Archie Lee and Ada Florence “Lula” (Anderson) Poindexter.
Connie graduated from Decatur Central High School and worked in various retail and customer service positions. She enjoyed her time at Cracker Barrell in Plainfield and also working as a Mary Kay consultant. She was a longtime member of Hazelwood Christian Church and was always fond of Bible study. A very social and engaging person, Connie loved music, dancing, and gardening. She also had a special friendship with her dog, Angel. Connie dealt with health issues that began in her 40s, resulting in an early onset of dementia. Family and church remained incredibly important to Connie as she courageously dealt with these health issues. Her spirit and optimism never got her down though. Connie’s memory will be cherished by a loving family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald E. Poindexter; an infant sister, Linda Lee Poindexter.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Ashley Roy; grandchildren, Makayla and Haley Roy.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 15, 2022, 10 to 11 a.m., in the chapel at Hazelwood Christian Church. The memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, is serving the family.
