Conrad William “Billy” Sims
Remembering a wonderful son, brother, uncle, and friend to all. Conrad “Billy” W. Sims passed away on Monday, May 30th. He will never be forgotten and will live on in our hearts, thoughts, and memories.

Conrad was born on March 19, 1971, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Christine Louise Smith (Gregory). Conrad grew up in Indianapolis with his two siblings. He graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1990. He went on to graduate from Purdue University in December 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Engineering and Technology.

Conrad enjoyed eating at restaurants that were off the beaten path. He would travel out of his way to find small, independently owned restaurants. Sometimes we would even question if it was safe to enter the restaurant. However, the food was always the best.

Conrad would never turn down an opportunity to go on a road trip, regardless of if it were a few hours or several hours. It didn’t matter if it were a trip to the beach, amusement park, or just going to get away, he was packed and ready. He was always ready to take a short trip to West Lafayette to visit his nephew at Purdue. He often vacationed with family and enjoyed exploring things with his nieces and nephews. He was and is an endearing part of our family that will live in our hearts forever.

Conrad was an avid fan of Larry Bird and Peyton Manning. He was such a big Peyton Manning fan that he had a life size fathead of Peyton on his stairway. He had fatheads of Larry Bird in other areas of his home.

He loved technology and staying current on the most recent gadget that hit the market. He always had to have the most current technology and had to have things in his home current with technology. You need a light on, just ask Alexa.

Conrad worked for Marian, Inc. for 25 years. He was hired as a programmer for UNIX. Due to unexpected circumstances, he was quickly given additional responsibilities. He ended his career in the role of Systems Administrator and End User Support. Marian was not only a job for him, but the company and its employees were his family. He loved the work he did and the people he worked with.

Conrad leaves behind his mother, Christine (Gregory) Smith and stepfather, Charles Smith of Mooresville; brother, Herbert Sims Jr and sister-in-law Tammy Sims of Indianapolis; his sister, Ethel Sims of Mooresville; nephews, Tyler Sims, Trevor Sims, Clayton Cullers; nieces, Kaitlyn Cullers and Madison Sims. He leaves behind his grandma, Wilma Wrightsman; aunts, Teresa Fulk, Connie Cooke, Carol Campbell, Nancy Faucet; uncles, Ralph Helms, Richard Gregory, and Rodney Gregory; companion, Susie Khun and her children, Narly Hornbaker and Davin Phann. He also leaves behind cousins and several friends.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Conrad’s life on Thursday, June 2nd from 4-8pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 3rd at 11am in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
