Cullen David “Dave” Rudy was born at Marion General Hospital, Marion, IN to George and Jane (Schwartz) Rudy. He was a 1962 graduate of Marion High School. Dave worked at RCA in Marion from 1962 until he began employment at General Motors, Marion plant (Fisher Body) in 1967. He worked for GM for 37 years, retiring in 2004.

Dave was well known in the Grant Co. area due to his participation in community activities and service. He spent over 10 years as a volunteer fireman with the Grant Co. Center Township Volunteer Fire Department and was Assistant Fire Chief at the time he resigned. As an avid sportsman and fisherman, Dave played 13 years in the fast pitch softball league, was a member of the Indiana Bass Anglers Club, and was a member of the State Bowling Association for over 40 years, attending many state and national bowling championships. During his years as a member of the bowling association he achieved a perfect 300 game and is an inductee of the Grant County Bowling Hall of Fame.

Dave married Nancy (Riddle) on March 17, 1990; she survives. They relocated from the Fairmount, IN area to Mooresville, IN in 2014. He was employed part time at Wal-Mart in Camby, IN and attended Mt. Gilead Church, Mooresville at the time of his death. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Roger Smelser, and nephews, Michael and Gerin Rudy.
David is survived by his brother, Phillip (Peggy) Rudy of Marion, IN; brother-in-law, Steven (Virginia) Smelser of Sprague, CT; and sister-in-law, Beth (Steven) Ito of Lumberton, NC. Dave was blessed with a blended family that included daughters, Patricia Curlin of Marion, IN, Debbie (Stephen) Hass of Delton, MI, Suzanne Everhart of Gas City, IN and Stephanie (Bill) Andrews of Martinsville, IN; sons, Troy (Julie) Riddle of Jonesboro, IN, and Scott (Tracy) Riddle of Niceville, FL; grandchildren, Jensen (Jessica), Justin, and Kenishia Caldwell all of Marion, IN, Tyler Estill of Charlotte, MI, Brady and Jayden Haas of Delton, MI, Jonathon (Amanda) Rudy of Sweetser, IN, Cody (Adreana) Everhart of Hope Mills, NC, Jessica Riddle of Milton, NC, Keaton Riddle of Mooresville, IN, Kameron Riddle of Indianapolis, IN, Bill Andrews of Denver, CO, and Kassidy Andrews of Martinsville, IN; 11 great grandchildren and close friend, Bob Sapp of Sweetser, IN.

A celebration of Dave’s life will be held for family and friends at a date to be announced.
