Damon Roland Ferguson, Jr. (aka Fergie, Dad or Pops) was born July 17, 1928, in Keokuk, Iowa, and passed away peacefully September 4, 2018. His family moved to Mooresville, Indiana where he met a beautiful young woman, Anna Lou Bain, during their junior year of high school. They married October 11, 1947, and raised four children: Richard (Marilyn), Michael (Tamara), Larry (Becky) and Cindy (Tom) Bailey. They had three beautiful grandchildren, Jason, Lindsay, and Alex Baker (Alana) and step grandchildren, Jay, Elyse, Jessie,and Amie; and step-great grandchildren, Zach, Zoe, Olivia, Tess, and Becca. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy (Larry) Skaggs. Damon is preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lou and a brother, Bob (Eunice) Ferguson.
Damon was a 59-year member of the Mooresville Masonic Lodge #78. He was also a charter member of the Mooresville Christian Church and most recently attended Emmanuel Christian Church in Greenwood. Damon was employed as plant supervisor at Federal Mogul from 1945-1987 (42 years) and then worked for Overton Tool and Die for another 22 years. He built many homes in Mooresville while working full time, always making the next one more beautiful than the last. He loved his family, but foremost loved the Lord with all his heart. Damon, you are loved and will be deeply missed.
Friends and family will gather to remember and celebrate the life of Damon Ferguson on Sunday, September 9, 2018, 2 to 6 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Monday, September 10, 2018. Pastor Marion Glover will officiate, and burial will be in White Lick Cemetery.
