Dan Day
70 of Martinsville, unexpectedly passed away at home on August 31, 2024. Dan was born on June 21, 1954 in Beech Grove, Indiana to the late, George Fred Day and Helen Katherine (Livingston) Day.
A hard-working man, Dan worked as a truck driver for IMI Concrete for over 30 years, retiring in 2012. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post 1111 in Mooresville. Dan enjoyed being on the open road, riding his Harleys as well as the quiet country life, raising cattle on his farm. He will be remembered as a gentle giant, who was quiet and unassuming, but would quickly make friends with anyone.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Ann (Howell) Day; brothers George L. Day, Mike Day, half-brother Fred Doss, and a nephew Rob Williams.
He is survived by his sisters Sharon Williams, Rose Williams; brother Jake S. Day, several nieces and nephews, and friends who will all dearly miss him.
The family is hosting a Celebration of Dan’s life on Saturday, September 14th from 3-8pm at the V.F.W. Post 1111, 411 S. Indiana Street, Mooresville, IN.
