Mooresville - Danny M. Ottinger, of Eminence, passed on Saturday morning, June 4th, 2022, into God’s loving hands. Danny was born to Elmer and Betty (Wilkerson) Ottinger on August 11, 1950. He attended Boone County Schools in Whitestown and Lebanon.
He was employed by Gasden Elevator and Morgan County Coop in Mooresville for several years. In later years he was employed by K-Mart, making deliveries to several locations in Indiana and surrounding states. He also was employed by Ole Dominion Truck Lines. He worked until his health issues forced his retirement in January of this year. Danny beat the odds when it came to pancreatic cancer though, surviving for over five years when the average prognosis is less than two. Known as a hard-worker and fighter, this surprised no one who knew him.
Danny went to church as a small boy and later as he started his family. On February 9th, 1974, he was married to Bonnie Bolin. They had one daughter, Heather S. Ottinger and were both thrilled. Bonnie passed away on June 26. 2012. He stayed single for several years and then remarried to Susan Duncan on December 1st, 2015. She is left to cherish his memory along with his daughter Heather.
A dedicated family man, a few of Danny’s favorite things are a roller-coaster, the faster the better, roller skating, and asking as many questions as he can get away with.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Bonnie Ottinger; sister Roslia, who died shortly after birth and a brother, Benny (Bo) Ottinger.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Ottinger; daughter Heather Campbell (Jonathan); sisters Nancy D. Lowe of Concord, NC and Deborah Griffin of Lebanon, IN; brothers Richard E. Ottinger (Silvia), Paul Ottinger (Janet) of Marion, NC.; and several nephews and nieces.
