David Phillip Daprile, 64, Mooresville, passed away peacefully at home November 28, 2023. David was born September 23, 1959, in Indianapolis, to the late Anthony Joseph Daprile and Wanda (James) Daprile, who survives. He married Angela (Beach) Daprile on September 17, 1983, and she also survives.
David graduated from Perry Meridian High School and studied welding at Ivy Tech. Armed with a strong work ethic, determination, and intelligence, he worked at Mechanics Laundry for several years before becoming employed at Eli Lilly & Company. He continued working at Lilly through contract work with Johnson Controls and CBRE as coordinating engineer. David’s talent can be seen throughout the Lilly Corporate Center and many of the various Lilly laboratories.
He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. David was drawn to just about anything with a motor on in it including cars, trucks, boats, and tractors. He loved muscle cars, MOPAR, John Deere Tractors, and will be remembered as the personal mechanic for many. Family memories were created at Lake Lemon where David enjoyed slalom skiing, teaching his children to ski, and many hours fishing. He was the rock on which his family stood, and he will be forever remembered for his loyalty, dependability, and trustworthiness.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Logan Howard.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Angela; mother, Wanda; children, David Daprile, Kelly (Jake) Jones, Savannah Daprile, Kimberly Howard; brothers, Mike Daprile and Joe (Rena) Daprile; sisters, Chrissy Daprile and Lisa Daprile-Beltz; grandchildren, Cheyanne and Emma Jones, Gage Davis, Lane, Lila, and Levi Lawyer; great grandchildren, Foresst and Grady Davis; a host of nieces and nephews.
David’s Life Celebration® Visitation will be held Sunday, December 3, 2023, 2 to 5 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1200 N. Indiana Street, Mooresville. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall.
