David K. Gardner

David K. Gardner, 69, Martinsville, passed away at home on October 24, 2024. David was recently diagnosed with an aggressive lung cancer, but that did not get in his way of wanting to stay active and make the most of every day. Dave’s story began on September 12, 1955, in Indianapolis, when he was born to the late Raymond K. and Betty Jean (McKinney) Gardner. 

He graduated from Eminence High School in 1974, and waited all of a couple of months before marrying Teresa (Hunt) Gardner on July 21, 1974, a union that brought two sons and much joy and happiness for the two. Dave worked in maintenance for Twigg Corporation in Martinsville for more than 30 years. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and camping. He loved to travel, visiting nearly all of the 50 states, Canada, and Mexico. Many wonderful family memories were creating on these great adventures through the years. Dave will be fondly remembered by a loving family and many friends. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an older brother, Raymond Lee Gardner. 

 Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Teresa; sons, David W. (Christy) Gardner and Cliff R. Gardner; siblings, Betty Jean Gardner, Cathy Schuler, Mike Gardner, Les (Linda) Gardner; grandchildren, Katelyn (Andrew) Hering, Allison (Bryan) Gardner, Haile Hinton, and Neil (Kylea) Hinton; great grandchildren, Marcel, Axel, and one on the way.
