David “Dave” William Ooley, 62, Mooresville, died June 13, 2013, in the VA Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born January 10, 1951, in Indianapolis, to the late William “Bill” and Louise (Soots) Ooley.
Dave graduated from Mooresville High School in 1969 and later attended IUPUI for a business degree. He proudly retired from the United States Navy. Dave was a member of the Ben Davis Christian Church. He worked as the manager for Plasma Alliance in Indiana and Oklahoma City. Dave also owned a video store in Indianapolis. An avid IU basketball fan, he enjoyed fishing, mowing the lawn, social media on computers, and being outside in the sun. Dave will be dearly missed by all of his loving family and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Lee Ooley.
Survivors include his wife, Laura (Paxton) Ooley, to whom he was united in marriage on September 17, 1997; daughters, Christy Todd (Matt) of Greenwood and Tracie Wilson (John) of Evansville; brother, Alan “Dale” Ooley (Sandy) of Mooresville; sister, Terri L. Bryan (Larry) of New Palestine; grandchildren; Aiden, Alyson, Zachary, Mihret, and Lily; many nieces and nephews; and canine companions, Peyton and Pumpkin.
Calling will be observed from Noon to 3 p.m., Monday, June 17, 2013, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with the funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. Burial will follow in White Lick Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Williams will officiate the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
