Herman Dean Atwood, Jr., 47, of Monrovia, passed away May 13, 2019. Dean was born November 8, 1971, in Danville, Indiana, to Herman Dean, Sr. and Linda Sue (Hayes) Atwood.
Dean graduated from Rise Learning Center. He was a member of the Monrovia Christian Church. He proudly worked at Pizza Hut for 25 years. Dean played many sports in the Special Olympics such as basketball, softball, and bowling. Dean also enjoyed watching sports like NASCAR, going to flea markets and yard sales, slushies, and singing, especially Amazing Grace. He is going to be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roscoe and Frances Atwood; and Samuel and Mary Hayes.
Survivors include his parents, Herman Dean, Sr. and Linda Sue Atwood of Monrovia; and his brother, Brian K. Atwood of Monrovia, and a host of other relatives. .
Friends and family will gather for visitation from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2019, in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Additional visitation hours will be on Friday from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., May 17, 2019 at Monrovia Christian Church: 710 Gordon Road, Monrovia, Indiana 46157. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the church. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. While flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be made to the Monrovia Christian Church; envelopes will be provide by the funeral home.
