Dennis L. Tackett, 67, of Quincy, passed away June 11, 2019 at home. He was born October 31, 1951, in Martinsville, Indiana, to the late Ivan and Bessie (Rike) Tackett.

Dennis proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. Mr. Tackett retired October of 2018, doing maintenance throughout his career. He enjoyed the good outdoors such as camping, boating, and bonfires. Dennis loved to talk about the trips he took out west. Being the leader of the family, Dennis is going to be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his children, Amanda Tackett, Daniel Tackett, and Brian Tackett; brothers, Butch Tackett, Phil Tackett, Kevin Tackett, and Brad Tackett; and a sister, Peggy Putman.

Survivors include his wife, Doris (Winters) Tackett; son, Michael (Sheila) Tackett of Mooresville, Alan Tackett of Mooresville, and Christopher Tackett of Eminence; brothers, Ed (Wendy) Tackett of Mooresville and Rex (Yolanda) Tackett of North Carolina; sisters, Alma Pease of Mooresville, Sharon (Bill) Koelling of Tennessee, Connie (Jay) Garrett of Martinsville, and Del – Marie (Terry) Garrett of Paragon, and 11 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
