Dianne Starnes, 70, Camby, passed away January 7, 2022. Dianne was born July 12, 1951, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Homer Cox and Lucy (Hoskins) Finet. She married Harold Starnes on April 16, 2011, and he survives.
Dianne worked various jobs as her sons were being raised, including time at Kenworth of Indianapolis, the Wholesale Club, and Harmon Motive. Her favorite work involved her wedding cake business that kept her quite busy as she created delicious and beautiful wedding cakes through the years. Dianne was an excellent cook and was never afraid of using plenty of butter to make her dishes extra special. She also enjoyed fishing, playing scrabble, and used her creative abilities to create beautiful angels for friends who were dealing with difficult situations. She was the organizer of the Christmas Tea in Mooresville that occurred several years in a row as the event became popular. She was very social and enjoyed people. Dianne was a member of the Mooresville Eagles Lodge. She will be fondly remembered by her loving family for her devotion to her family, especially her parents, and her caring and generous spirit.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Dan Cox and Elayne Chattin.
Survivors include her husband, Harold; sons, Ernie (Janace) Nester, Jim (Jill) Nester, Tim (Debbie) Nester; stepdaughters, Tonia Starnes and Tracy Hood; sister, Debbie Dowell; 17 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
Dianne’s Life Celebration® Visitation will be Tuesday, January 11, 2022, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. According to Dianne’s wishes, cremation will follow services. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
