Donald R. Bryson, 86, Mooresville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at his residence. Don was born May 8, 1937, in Indianapolis, to the late Willie Everett and Mildred May (Gilley) Schaeg. He married his beloved wife, Sue, on April 6, 1984, and she survives.
Don worked for GM Truck & Bus for 28 years before his retirement. A devout and faithful Christian man, Don was a longtime member of the Mooresville Free Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee and usher. He was an accomplished carpenter and took pride in making various creations for family, friends, and his church family. Don was an avid IU basketball fan, enjoyed fishing, camping, and loved to garden. He will be fondly remembered by a loving family and many friends for his kind and gentle manner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Tracy Green, and a grandson, Joshua Willard.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Sue; sons, Richard (Janet) Bryson and Shawn Bryson; stepson, Travis Green; brother, Robert (Andrea) Bryson; grandchildren, Erica Bryson, Jenny (Moises) Gonzalez, and Amanda Bryson; great-grandson, Benjamin Tracy Gonzalez.
Don’s Life Celebration® Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Friday, April 5, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in White Lick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mooresville Free Methodist Church, 20 Star Lane, Mooresville, IN 46158.
