Donald L. Featherston

Donald L. Featherston, 84, Mooresville, passed away tragically in a house fire on September 9, 2019. Donald was born January 14, 1935, in Martinsville, to the late Arthur and Flo Jane (Mohart) Featherston. His wife, Mary, also died on Monday.

Don graduated from Brazil High School. He worked for a number of years for Twigg’s, Sweitzer’s and for McQuay-Norris prior to owning and operating Featherston’s Daycare for 25 years. Don enjoyed puzzles and playing cards, especially euchre and poker. He was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan and always looked forward to watching the games. He was also an accomplished wood worker.

In addition to his parents and his wife of 60 years, Mary, Don was preceded in death by two sons, Jeff and Donald; a brother, Eugene; sisters, Lillian, Nora, Phyllis, and Mabel.

Survivors include two daughters, Christine Featherston and Becky Gilkeson; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Monday, September 16, 2019, 12 Noon until 2 p.m., in the Monrovia Church of the Nazarene.
