Donald L. Trosper, 76, Mooresville, died on his 55th wedding anniversary, February 21, 2015, in Meadow Lakes. Mr. Trosper was born September 1, 1938, in Plainville, Indiana, to the late John Henry and Anna Marie (Thomas) Trosper.
He graduated from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis. Mr. Trosper proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, retiring in 1977. He was stationed in Iceland, Dolphin Island, Alabama, San Antonio, Texas, Alaska, Ohio, the Philippines, Virginia, and retired while in Colorado. He then worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for 20 years.
He enjoyed flying radio controlled airplanes and was an avid deer hunter. Don was known for a dry and funny sense of humor; he will be missed by a loving family and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Wesley Trosper and one brother, Paul Trosper.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Karen (Grant) Trosper, to whom he was united in marriage February 21, 1960; sons, Faron Trosper (Tana) of Mooresville and David Trosper (Trish) of Mooresville; grandchildren, Kyle Cherry, Brittany Trosper, Clinton Trosper, Megan Cherry, Kaitlyn Trosper, and Bailey Cherry.
Friends and family will gather on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, 4 to 8 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 25, 2015, in the funeral home. Burial, with full military honors, will be in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
