Donald R. McClure
75, of Monrovia, passed away on December 16, 2020 at the VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. Donald was born on June 1, 1945 in Spencer, IN to the late Violet (Carter) and Donald L. McClure.
Donald proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 103. After service, Donald worked as a cable splicer for Indiana Bell for 35 years, before retiring. A faithful man, Donald was an active member of the North Madison Baptist Church and was an ordained Southern Baptist Deacon. Additionally, he was an avid bowler, music lover, collecting many records and tapes as well as a race fan of Indy Car and USAC sprints.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Jerry, Douglas and Curtis McClure.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Donna (Lindsey) McClure; son Dennis (Claudia) McClure; daughter Darla (Chris) Martens; sister Carole Ooley and grandchildren, Claudia Willis, Jackson Willis, Donny McClure and Jaina Martens.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Dec. 28th from 12-2pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, with services beginning at 2:00pm Monday in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall, IN. All guests attending visitation and/or services will be required to wear a mask at all times in an effort to promote a safe environment. Currently, services are limited to 25 people. However, you are invited to watch the services via live stream on the Carlisle Branson website.
