Donald Reckelhoff
70, of Mooresville passed away on June 21, 2021 at home, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Don was born on November 23, 1950 in Huntingburg, IN to the late Agnes E. (Heldman) and Kenneth B. Reckelhoff.
Don grew up in Morgan County and attended St Susanna Catholic School as a child and later graduated from Martinsville High School. After high school, Don honorably served in the National Guard. He worked as a carpenter in his younger years and later was a truck driver for Daum Overnight and Alvan Motor Freight for many years, before retiring in 2007.
Don was proud of his country roots and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting and boating. He was also strong in his faith, he attended Mt. Pleasant Christian Church, until his health would no longer allow. He gave faithfully to the mission programs and the Impact Center to help those less fortunate.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Reckelhoff.
Survivors include his wife, Julie (Wildrick) Reckelhoff; son Kevin Reckelhoff; daughter Beth Dieckmann and two grandchildren Wyatt and Ava.
Friends and family will gather for Don’s Life Celebration® visitation on Friday, June 25th from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. Services will be held on Saturday, June 26th at 10am in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
In keeping with Don’s faithful giving, memorial contributions are recommended to be made in Don’s memory to the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church Missions or to the Impact Ministry 381 N. Bluff Road, Greenwood, IN 46142.
