Doris Frances (Polson) Wilson Forester, 77 of Avon, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. She was born August 21, 1937 in Monticello, Kentucky to the late Murrell and Flossie (Mikle) Polson. Doris was happily married to Michael Eugene Forester for many years, he predeceased her on September 12, 2003.
She worked in the department of collections at Nichols Loan in Indianapolis for over ten years. A very passionate person, Doris enjoyed reading, playing cards, working crossword puzzles, especially enjoyed watching Jeopardy, was known to be an excellent cook and entertainer.
Survivors include her children, C. Marc (Marlene) Wilson, Michael R. (Diane) Wilson, Neda L. (John) Ward, and Kimmi R. (John) O’Bryan; her brother, Robert (Carolyn) Polson and sister, Betty (Jim) Burgess; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Along with her parents and her husband, Doris was also preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Kendrick and two brothers, Carl and Tommy Polson.
Family and friends will gather for visitation in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2015. A funeral service in celebration of Doris’s life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 9201 E. Co. Rd. 100 N., Avon, IN 46123.
