Dorothy L. Turner, 84, Mooresville, died peacefully at home May 5, 2014. Mrs. Turner was born December 4, 1929, in Mooresville, the daughter of the late Jerome and Ethel (Williams) Martin.

She graduated from Mooresville High School in 1948. A hard working lady, Dorothy worked various jobs in the Mooresville area as a young person before beginning a 30 year career at the Allison Division of General Motors. She retired in 1981. She was a member of the Brooklyn Church of God and Job’s Daughters. She and her husband lived for 15 years in Missouri and recently moved back to Mooresville last year.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Carl, Oscar, Ann, and Gail.

Survivors include her husband 63 years, Brad Turner and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will begin at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 8, 2014, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until the service. Cremation will follow at the Morgan County Crematory, Mooresville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
