Douglas D. Wynn Sr.

Douglas D. Wynn, Sr., 64, Plainfield, entered into Heaven at 7:48 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015. Mr. Wynn was born August 26, 1951, in Harlan, Kentucky, to the late Burley and Arkie (Witt) Wynn.

Doug graduated from Arsenal Technical High School and attended Ivy Tech. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and enjoyed a career with the United States Post Office, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Monrovia Nazarene Church and enjoyed fishing. Above all, Doug enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. He will be missed by his loving family and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Doerr and siblings, Jerry Wynn, Wilmer Wynn, Burley Wynn, Jr., Jeanette Rogers, and Judy Neace.

Survivors include his loving wife, Letha (Hornsby) Wynn, to whom he was united in marriage May 9, 1969; son, Dougie Wynn (Elizabeth) of Jamestown; grandchildren, Joshua Doerr (Tiffany), Brittany Wynn, Amanda Doerr, Kaylee Doerr, and Octavia Wilson; sisters, Thelma Wynn Rocha of South Carolina and Shirley Yeary of Zionsville; very special son-in-law, Richard Doerr; special niece and nephew, Steve and Shelly Farr.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Douglas D. Wynn from 3 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, October 13, 2015, in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will be officiated by Brother Darrell Dennis at 12 Noon, Wednesday, October 14, 2015, in the Monrovia Nazarene Church, 260 N. Chestnut St., Monrovia.
