Dr. Sue Pearson, PhD, 80, Fort Walton Beach, Florida, formerly of Mooresville, died peacefully December 18, 2012. Sue was born December 14, 1932, in Indianapolis, to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Welfer) Reichert.
She graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1950. Sue was a constant learner and a student for many years. Early on she worked as a dental hygienist. At the age of 61, she earned her Doctorate degree in psychology from Indiana University. She spent eleven years working as a prison psychologist in Florida. More recently, she worked as a psychologist for the United States Armed Services at Eglin Air Force Base and for the State of Florida. Sue was also a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mooresville.
She was preceded in death by one son, Grant David Pearson.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. David Pearson, D.D.S., to whom she was united in marriage September 4, 1955; son, Andrew Pearson (Becky) of Indianapolis; daughter, Kathleen Jamrozy (Kenny) of South Bend; five grandchildren, Paige Shaw (John), Shannon Ridenour, Shauna Williams (Ryan), Shannon Merrill, and Michael Reed; nine great grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a Celebration of Sue’s Life on Saturday, December 22, 2012, from 2 to 6 p.m., 40 East Main St., Mooresville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
