E. Franklin “Frank” Ellshoff
86, of Mooresville, passed away April 28, 2017. Frank was born May 13, 1930, in Marshall, IL to the late Earl Franklin Ellshoff and Louise (Deaner) Ellshoff.
Frank proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, during the Korean War, where he was a combat engineer and a musician.
Following service, he earned his Master’s Degree from Indiana State University and embarked on a long and distinguished career as a teacher at Baugo Township Schools in Elkhart, IN then a graduate assistant at the University of Illinois in the geography department and later an industrial arts teacher at Decatur Central HS, from 1965 until his retirement in 1991.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #90 in Marshall, the Experimental Aircraft Association, the National Street Rod Association and the Methodist Church in Marshall, IL.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Harold Ellshoff and a twin sister Mary Lou Cornelison.
He is survived by his wife Joy (Flenner) Ellshoff, of Mooresville, IN, children; Karl (Gina) Ellshoff of Marshall, IL, Denise Ellshoff of Bloomington, IN and two grandchildren Cody and Katrina.
A memorial gathering celebrating Frank’s life will held Thursday from 4-7pm at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
Burial of his cremated remains with military honors will take place at a later date in Marshall, IL.
Inlieu of flowers the family has asked for memorial contributions to be made in Frank's memory to the Morgan Co Humane Society: 690 W. Mitchell Ave. Martinsville, IN 46151 or to the Marshall City Band: 11397 N. Grand Turn Rd. Marshall, IL 62441, of which Frank was a long time member.
