Earl Skinner, 76, Mooresville, died peacefully at home on December 23, 2012. Earl was born on March 11, 1936, in Richmond, Kentucky, to the late James and Ella Mae (Rose) Skinner.
He graduated from Clayton High School in 1955. A hard working man, Earl was a self-employed brick layer for 50 years. He enjoyed stock cars, miniature golf, bowling, shooting pool, and attending NASCAR races. He will be missed by a loving family and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Earl Skinner; stepson, Keith Robertson; brothers, Harold, Jimmy, and Rouie Skinner; sisters, Judy Collis and Imogene Trowbridge.
Survivors include his wife, Helen (Sheets) Skinner, to whom he was united in marriage October 28, 1978; son, Danny Skinner of Mooresville; daughters, Becki Monday of Indianapolis and Debbie Lathan (Tim) of Plainfield; stepdaughter, Debbie Schanz (Don) of Plainfield; brothers, Billy Skinner of Monrovia, Leon Skinner of Florida, and Jackie Skinner of Camby; sisters, Ella Beard of Mooresville, Berniece Bramel of Mooresville, Pauline Cherry of Clayton, Wanda Davee of Camby, Velma Redding of Indianapolis, and Cindy Tippin of Roachdale; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Friday, December 28, 2012, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 3 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 27, 2012. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
