Eddie D. Truex

Eddie D. Truex, 66, Freedom, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 4, 2013. Mr. Truex was born June 15, 1946, in Indianapolis, to the late Eddie Arthurdale and Lena Belle Truex.

He attended Washington High School and proudly served in the United States Navy. Mr. Truex was a devoted member of Heritage Baptist Church in Coal City. A hard working man, he worked for many years at Allison Gas Turbine and later retired from the GM Plant in Bedford. He enjoyed spending time with his family and always looked forward to family gatherings.

Mr. Truex was preceded in death by brothers, Charles and Bob Truex; sisters, Phyllis Hutchinson, Ruth Nelson, Gladys Dudley, and Ethel “Chick” Griffith; stepson, Jerry Woods.

Survivors include his wife, Janice (Reifeis) Truex, to whom he was united in marriage July 9, 1984; stepsons, Jeff Woods (Lisa) of Mooresville, Jod Woods (Stephanie) of Martinsville, and Jason Woods (Teresa) of Brownsburg; daughter-in-law, Tina Martin (Raymond) of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren.

The graveside service will be held privately on Monday, January 7, 2013, in the White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Baptist Church, Coal City or to Gideons International.
