Edith Marie Ringer, 88, Indianapolis, died peacefully at home on March 14, 2013. Mrs. Ringer was born January 15, 1925, in Indianapolis, to the late Homer and Nina (Butterfield) Huston.
She graduated from Ben Davis High School. Mrs. Ringer was a proud homemaker and was known as “Gram” to those who loved her most. She enjoyed reading books, a daily vanilla iced coffee, and doting over her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by her loving family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Richard Ringer; siblings, Harry Huston, Lois Steffey, Helen Pate, Clearissa James, and Norma Huston.
Survivors include her sons, Robert L. Ringer of Indianapolis and Keith H. Ringer (Janet) of Speedway; daughter, Joyce Kistler (Jim) of Indianapolis; sisters, Kathleen Shaw of Indianapolis and Jo Ann Baber of Plainfield; grandchildren, Kellen Receveur (Nichol Gregory), Brad Ringer, and Alyssa Kistler.
Calling hours will not be observed. The funeral service will be held privately on Monday in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
