Edith Roxanne “Roxie” Spoon, 60, Martinsville, formerly of Mooresville, passed away suddenly at home December 6, 2016. Roxie was born June 6, 1956, in Richmond, to the late John and Mary Lou (Bratton) Clark.
She attended school in Richmond, but made Morgan County her home and raised her family here. Roxie worked at the Martinsville McDonalds for about 9 year before her health would not allow her to work any longer. Roxie always enjoyed a game of chance, looking forward to the big win on her scratch off tickets. She also liked to visit flea markets, looking for a deal too good to pass up. Above all, she was devoted to her family – a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be forever remembered by her loved ones.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Clark.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Lester F. Spoon; son, Charles Dustin Tuttle (Kristie Clair) of Martinsville; daughter, Jennifer Kelley of Martinsville; step-sons, Lester F. Spoon, Jr. and Matthew Aaron Spoon of Madison; sister, Maggie Kirkland of Florida; grandchildren, Hadden Tuttle, Grace Kelley, and Wyatt Kelley; father-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Spoon.
Friends and family will gather on Friday, December 9, 2016, 5 to 8 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 10, 2016, in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mooresville Cemetery.
