Edna L. Rader
90, of Brooklyn, passed away on August 24, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital in Mooresville. Edna was born on September 19, 1931 in Foxtown, Kentucky to the late Alex Blanton and Myrtle (Isaacs) Blanton.
Edna worked as a matron for Paul Hadley Middle School in Mooresville for 16 years, before retiring in 1992. A faithful lady, she was a member of the West Newton Full Gospel Tabernacle Church. She was also active on the Brooklyn Town Park Committee for many years. She married Tolby Rader on September 4, 1947 and were married 54 years at the time of his passing and would have celebrated 75 years of marriage this year.
Edna loved spending time with her family, cooking up her famous chili or chicken and dumplings, tending to her flower garden and mowing her lawn weekly to keep it immaculate. She will be remembered as a sweet, loving, kind woman, who loved her family dearly and always wanted the best for them. She will be missed by her loving family, neighbors, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Tolby Rader, and a daughter Shirley Rader.
She is survived by her son Ernest (the late Ruth) Rader, Marisa (Tom) Cordray; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate Edna’s life on Sunday, August 28th from 2pm-5pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Funeral services will be held on Monday August 29th at 11am in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in Centerton Cemetery.
