Edward Bryan

81, of Camby, passed away on June 10, 2019 at his home. Ed was born on June 3, 1938 in Mooresville, IN to the late Charles Bryan and Marjorie (Laymon) Bryan.

Ed grew up on the southwest side of Indianapolis and was a graduate of Decatur Central High School. After high school, he went to Tool and Die school at General Motors, where he went on to have a long, successful career with General Motors and Rolls Royce. Never one to be idle, Ed could always be found tinkering with cars in his younger years and antique bicycles in his later years. He was a member of the Road Runners Car Club and the Hoosier Antique and Classic Bike Club.

In his retirement, he enjoyed meeting with fellow Decatur alums for breakfast the first Tuesday of every month to catch up on what was going on in the lives of his fellow classmates and friends. Additionally, he always looked forward to July when he and his fellow Bike Club members would camp out at the annual antique bike parts festival in Portland, Indiana and look for the best deals. However, it was his family that brought him the most joy. He enjoyed picking up antique toys, go karts, scooters and mini bikes to bring home and let the grandchildren ride around and play with in the backyard. He will be greatly missed by all.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Janet (Burch) Bryan; daughter Kristan Durbin; sons Jim Bryan, Kevin Bryan, 12 grandchildren and a host of friends.

A gathering of friends and family to celebrate Edward’s life will be held Friday from 2-4pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with funeral services beginning at 4pm Friday in the funeral home. According to Ed’s wishes he will be cremated and scattered at a later date.
